Hi.

My name is Aleksi Heikkinen. I am currently a student at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences where I study information and communication technology, ICT. My major in University is Game Development.

I have always had a passion for computers and video games, so my current studies are a great fit. I have around 5 years experience in coding, mainly basic coding. I now am trying to learn more and different styles of languages and am looking forward to the challenge.

I have also been in scouts for at least a decade and have really enjoyed it there. I have learnt many major life skills. I've been in our scout groups government for two years now and been a group leader for five years.

Since Spring 2024 I have become part of the Student union board as an alternate member, becoming a full member in January 2025. I am an active member of the tutoring program in Metropolia, and have now advanced to become a head tutor.

My Skills

HMTL-CSS

I have 3 years of basic HTML-CSS experience, most of it relating to basic website construction.

C#

Another language I am very familiar with and I have used it in many projects. A language I really enjoy using.

GitHub

I have used GitHub quite extensively with varying success. It is one of my most used tools as it simpilfies project saving and sharing.

Python

It's a language I have limited experience in but hope to improve in the future.

C++

I have used C++ in some University projects I have worked on but feel I need to learn this language in more depth.

Unity

As a Game Developer Unity is a very valuable tool to me. To date all my game projects have been made using Unity and I have enjoyed working with it.
